Failing Foundations

We hold these truths to be self-evident, (Obvious by themselves) that all men (meaning, Women, Children, Black, White, Orange, Asian, Eskimo, Indonesian, Mexican, Latino, Jewish, Catholic, Baha'i, Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Trans-gender, All meaning Everyone) are created equal (meaning you are no better than me and I am no better than you) that they are endowed (given, blessed) by their Creator (even Atheists, They choose) with certain (specific) unalienable (irremovable, unforgettable) rights (privileges), that among these (within these privileges) are Life, (your own lifestyle, controlled by you) Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness (the journey and adventure to find whatever, or whoever, makes you happy.)

So, remind me, If these are the ideas that The United States of America was formed on, Why can't Gay, Lesbian or Trans people get married? Raise kids? Join the Military? Even in some cases, Live with their partners?

Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this mental picture?

Me

Hello,
few things about me:
I'm Mari.
I'm proud to call myself a Lesbian, hence, Proud2BMe.
I've been in a relationship with an Amazing woman named Erin for over a year.
I hate the news, all it does is make me angry.
I was born in Chicago, but I reside in the white, rich, christian suburbs of the Twin Cities in MN.
I am extremely facetious.
I feel snazzy when I use large, unusual words like Facetious.
I love bands like Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance, Bullet For My Valentine, Kittie and old Good Charlotte.
I've never tried a blog before.
I love noodles and I am the farthest thing from a Vegetarian.
My girlfriend is the most important thing in the whole world to me.
I want to become a film or theater director as I grow older.
I love the movie The Women, but only the 1939 version as the new one Sucked worse than a vampire in a B movie.
I believe in all that crazy stuff like vampires, werewolves, fairies, gremlins and monsters under the bed.
Yeah, that's me.

Politicians Make Me Angry, Especially Stupid Ones

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/10/10/new.york.paladino.gays/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnn

Please read, not skim, the article before continuing.

This guy, Carl Paladino, a New York Republican, is, simply, an Idiot.

"Paladino criticized gays Sunday, saying he didn't want children "to be brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid or successful option," compared to heterosexuality. "It isn't," Paladino said at a stop in Brooklyn, New York."

There are way too many things incredibly Wrong with this.

1) What the heck is going to 'brainwash' our children?
The News? (which is generally liberal, but not biased on GLBT matters)
The Magazines? (which doesn't care about GLBT people unless they are buying the products advertised.)
The Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy or Modern Family TV Shows? (yeah right, Government can't control the storyline on extremely successful TV shows and there is no way that the writers will just Stop the plot to get rid of those garsh-darned gays.)

2) Homosexuality COULD be an "equally valid" and Very "successful option" if he, or any other politician, Democratic or Republican or anything inbetween, on a State or Federal level, would get up off their fat asses and MOVE some legislation!

I hate watching the news, especially late at night, I just go to bed angry. Maybe it's a good idea I started this blog.
